Kurikoma Sumo Club

The Sendai Kurikoma Sumo Club is based in the Sendai area and welcomes participants of all ages, from children to adults. We value the fundamental principle of sumo—'beginning and ending with a bow'—and focus on training both mind and body while teaching proper etiquette. Our close-knit community of parents and instructors creates an environment where members can enjoy sumo to the fullest. We prioritize safety while providing expert guidance on everything from the initial charge (tachi-ai) to the final push-out (yori-kiri).
