It is a legendary training ground that has produced many professional wrestlers, including former Ozeki Shodai and Yoshinofuji. Under the guidance of Coach Sonoda and club alumni, the team boasts a glorious track record, including national Wanpaku Sumo championship titles and the rise of middle school yokozuna.
