Overview
This sumo dojo was established under the leadership of young head instructor Yuya Ohara to revitalize local sumo, which had lost its vibrancy following the earthquake. Operating in an environment that allows for vigorous outdoor training—including practicing on an outdoor clay ring until the end of October—the dojo primarily serves elementary and junior high school students. It is a place where members of all ages inspire one another as they strive to improve. While placing great importance on the fundamentals of sumo, the training also focuses on personal growth, with older students mentoring those younger than them.
