Operating in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, the "Karatsu Sumo Club" is a sumo school where children from preschool to junior high school are active. Through the sumo fundamentals of "shiko" (leg stomping) and "suri-ashi" (sliding feet), students cultivate the core strength and flexibility essential for growth. In addition to techniques, the club aims for human development focused on greetings and courtesy based on the martial arts spirit of "beginning and ending with a bow," helping students naturally learn to greet with a loud voice and show respect for their opponents.
